River

The Pemiscot County Port Authority provides access to barge transportation via the inland waterway system. This slack-water harbor is located at mile 849 on the Lower Mississippi River. The Port Authority provides intermodal shipping through its strategic linkages to the rail and highway systems. A public dock, fleeting service, and building sites are available at this year-round ice free facility. Enhanced Enterprise Zone benefits and other state and local incentives are available to businesses locating or expanding within the Port Authority district.

Highway

Caruthersville is located near the intersection of I-155 and I-55, which is the first north-south artery west of the Mississippi River intersecting each of the east-west interstate highways. Our location in the central U.S. is ideal for transportation to all major metropolitan markets. Completion of the Interstate 155 bridge between Caruthersville and Dyersburg, Tennessee, in 1976 established Caruthersville as a transportation interchange providing direct linkage to all parts of the country. The normal truckload delivery time to any location in the 48 contiguous United States does not exceed four days after shipment (add one day for less-than truckload).
